Jeremiah Kaine is the ying to Night-Wolf's yang, the oil to his water, the rubber to his glue. Basically his arch nemesis. Night-Wolf himself has described the relationship between the 2 as "The same side of a different coin". Kaine's origins are shrouded in mystery. We do know he is of Lakarian decent, some say he is Victor Von Reap's (AKA The Red Reaper) ilegitamate son. Certainly this would explain his need for wanton destruction.

So far he has escaped Carlton Asylum For The Criminally Deranged on 116 seperate occasions and each time threatens the city with destruction.

I once met Kaine at a signing session at a convention. He was actually very polite and signed my edition of the Night-Wolf Annual 1996. Unfortunately he then threatened to fill the auditorium with nerve gas and was subdued by Wolf-Boy.

The Hoop is otherwise known as Karl Krygher. Born in Golgothia, he came from a poor background and was desperate to escape poverty. When the opportunity arose to take part in a "Hula Marathon" competition to win a new car Krygher jumped at the chance to profit from his hobby. After 17 days of non stop hula-ing he was the last contestant standing. Unfortunately the strain was too much; he'd won the car but lost his mind.

After an attempt to assinate the ruling dictator of Golgothia he fled to our country and fell foul of Solar Boy who brought him to justice. Following his first escape he fromed "The Hoop Gang" with his former nurse and her cousin (see below)

He is a frequent resident of Carlton Asylum and holds the record for longest Hoop Spinning while in captivity of 21 days and 11 hours.

 

The Red Hoop is, in reality, Nurse Dorothy Marcelle, a former physician at Carlton Asylum. The 2 had a whirlwind romance during The Hoop's initial incarceration and she subsequently helped him to break out.

Despite a well respected career she was swayed by the Hoop's promise of easy money and acrobatic sex. In many ways she is a more natural villain, able to think on her feet and use a shot-gun.

Like The Hoop she has a variety of Hoop-Type weapons including a Hypno-Hoop, Gas-Hoop, Bladed Hoop and Self-Detonating Hoop.

The Green Hoop AKA Corin Gibson. Cousin to the Red Hoop and getaway driver for the gang.

Scientist and former winner of the 1988 Cardinal City Grand Prix The Green Hoop was later disqualified after using an untested petrol. He continued to work on perfecting the formula for his new fuel but the fumes drove him to the brink of madness. The side-effects however gave him lightning reflexes and an uncanny ability to solve crosswords.

He now works on The Hoop gangs weapons and is an adrenaline junky in his need for speed!
